Three Phase Cotton Gin

The principal onset of a
three phase
cotton gin is to
separate lint from the cotton seedpods. It must also be able to remove
foreign matter, moisture and other contaminants that can ruin the ginned
lint.
The
three phase cotton gin uses a
combination of a wire screen and small wire hooks that pull the cotton
through the screen and brushes will continuously remove the loose cotton
lint which prevents any jamming. The cotton gin has been in existence
since 1793 and was invented by Eli Whitney. The invention of the
cotton gin was a huge improvement as this meant that cotton didn't have
to be separated manually anymore.
The
three phase cotton gin
sometimes uses rollers to separate the cotton fibers from the seeds.
These rollers are usually made out of rough leather that draw out the
fibers of cotton and are cut off by a fixed knife that is pressed
against the rollers. Sizes vary on the three phase cotton gin.
Some are smaller and then there is the large industrial
three phase cotton gin.
All
three phase cotton gins
must operate on three phase power. The utility company could come
install three phase power for you but expect to pay large amounts of
money to have this done. They can charge you anywhere from $50,000
to $90,000 per mile to have three phase power installed. The best
bet would be to purchase a three phase rotary phase converter.
They are known to give you better balanced three phase power than the
utility company can provide. The three phase converter takes your single
phase power and converts it into three phase power. If your three
phase rotary phase converter has a 3-phase generator and power factor
correction, you know that you are getting true three phase power hooked
up to your three phase cotton gin. Three circuits are used to
carry three alternating currents of the same frequency, which in turn
they reach instantaneous peak values at three different times. Each
circuit in a three phase power load carries electrical current operating
in three different phases resulting in a constant flow of electricity.
Since the three phase rotary phase converter provides alternating
currents, a more balanced power load is created with an uninterrupted
flow of current to your
three phase cotton gin.
ACE
Phase
Converter has
been manufacturing a true three phase rotary phase converter for more
than 25 years and they have been given a 5 star rating for their
performances. Each component is made with 100% windings and wiring which
enhances the phase converters productivity. This ensures that your
three phase cotton gin
will operate for more than 35 plus years with little maintenance or
breakdown. They have experienced and knowledgeable technicians that will
help you in determining what size three phase converter you will need to
power your three phase
cotton gin.
