Three Phase Masonry Saw

A three phase masonry
saw is a powerful tool that is used for cutting through rigid and dense
materials such as concrete, granite, stone, ceramics and corian. The
three phase masonry saw can also be used for wood molding, concave
dishing along with trimming. They are sometimes even used for creating
slots on pipes, cables and conduits.
The three phase masonry
saw is used both dry and in wet cutting. Carpenters, masons,
plumbers and other building contractors use the three phase masonry saw.
The three phase masonry saw
uses a circular blade that has a rotating cutting action.
The horsepower on a
three phase masonry
saw can be anywhere from 7.5HP or
less to 8HP and up. There is usually a variable speed control that
controls the working speed of the three phase masonry saw. Carbon
brushes are used in the motor that protects the motor from overheating.
Two diamond blades that are arranged in a parallel configuration are
sometimes used on the three phase masonry saw, however, single
bladed saws are also seen. Since friction can be caused when using the
three phase masonry saw, a water distribution system is usually
installed. The water flows over the blades that will cool the blade and
the workpiece off.
Some safety features a three phase
masonry saw usually has:
* Motor housing has an airtight
cover-keeps water and dust out
* Usually has a soft start feature
- prevents cuts from being jagged
* A blade guard - provides
protection for the blade
* On/Off switch - is
usually provided on the three phase masonry saw
* Recoil spring - can increase
the cutting speed
* Lock-on button - this allows
uninterrupted operation
The three phase masonry saw
should be operated with true three phase power in order for it to
operate safely and efficiently. This can be done by using a phase
converter. You must make sure that it is true three phase power or else
the three phase masonry saw will only be operating in three phase
power for the initial start-up. This means that the phase converter must
have a 3-phase generating motor with power factor correction. A good
quality true three phase converter converts the single phase power
source into three phase power. It should be made with 100% copper wiring
and windings.
One of the best phase converters on
the market today is one that is manufactured by
ACE
Phase
Converter.
Their phase converters have that true three phase power that we
discussed earlier. They are all made with quality components like the
100% copper windings and wiring. ACE Phase Converter stands behind their
products by offering the consumer a 10 year warranty. That is how
proud they are of their phase converters. You can be assured that
your three phase masonry saw will last for years to come when you
power it with their phase converters.
