Three Phase Shaper
The
three phase shaper is a machine tool that is used for
shaping and or surfacing metals or other various materials. A lot of
repair shops use the three phase shaper in which only one or a
few pieces are required to be produced. The three phase shaper
has been pretty much replaced with the three phase milling machines or
grinding machines but they are still used.
There are several different types of
three phase shapers such as the standard, horizontal, vertical,
draw-cut, universal, geared, crank, hydraulic and contour. The
horizontal three phase shaper is most commonly used. The vertical
three phase shaper are generally
used with a rotary table in order to enable curves surfaces to be
machined. A three phase shaper works by moving a cutting tool
backwards and forwards across the workpiece.
The three phase shaper has a
rigid shaped table top that is in front of the machine. This table top
height can be adjusted to accommodate the workpiece. The table can move
sideways underneath the cutting tool which is mounted on the ram.
The table motion on the three phase shaper is controlled by an
automatic feed mechanism that acts on the feedscrew. The ram will slide
back and forth above the workpiece. On the front end of the ram is a
verticle tool slide that can be adjusted also. The tool slide on the
three phase shaper holds the clapper box and the toolpost.
This is where the shaping tool can be positioned to cut the straight,
flat surface on the top of the workpiece. The three phase
shaper can also employ cutting fluid to prolong the life of the
tool.
The three phase shaper should
be used with three phase power to operate safely and efficiently. A true
three phase converter can be hooked up to the three phase shaper
in order to achieve this true three phase power. A true three phase
converter is a device that will convert the single phase power source
into true three phase power as long as it has it's own 3-phase generator
with power factor correction. Three circuits are used to carry three
alternating currents which are of the same frequency. They will reach
their instantaneous peak values at three different times. Since each
circuit in a three phase power load carries electrical current that
operates in three different phases, the result is a constant flow of
balanced electricity. When this happens, a smoother form of power is now
operating the three phase shaper. This will eliminate overheating
and or breakdowns with the three phase shaper. If the true three
phase converter is installed properly, your three phase shaper
should last you for at least 35 years with little or no maintenance.
Reputable manufacturers of quality
true three phase converters, such as ACE
Phase
Converter, have eliminated such problems as harmonics and
voltage imbalances that can damage the three phase shaper or any
other equipment. ACE Phase Converter has perfected their true
three phase converters to operate three phase equipment to the fullest.
An ACE Phase Converter technician can be contacted to answer any
questions such as size and load to power your applications efficiently.
A good indication that a company stands behind their products, is the
warranty they offer. ACE Phase Converter offers a dependable 10
year warranty on all their products.
