Three Phase Sprinklers
Three
phase sprinklers are used for irrigating golf courses, farms, parks,
gardens, lawns and other various locations. The three phase
sprinklers are usually used as industrial strength sprinklers.
They are primarily used in situations other than residential.
The
three phase sprinklers can be used
above ground or they can be installed underground. Underground three
phase sprinklers work by sending a pre-determined voltage signal to
a solenoid valve that is buried into the ground. The solenoid
valve and the sprinklers that are going to be activated are known as a
zone. Once the three phase sprinkler system is activated, the
solenoid that sits on top of the valve, lifts a small stainless steel
plunger that is in the center. The plunger on the three phase
sprinklers allow air to escape from the top of a rubber diaphragm
that is located in the center of the valve. The water that sits on the
bottom of this diaphragm, now has a higher pressure and it will lift the
diaphragm on the three phase sprinklers. The water that is
now pressurized is now allowed to escape down stream of the valve
through a series of pipes. Stretched out among these pipes are three
phase sprinkler heads.
The sprinkler heads on the three
phase sprinklers can be of many choices. They can be rotating, or
small drip emitters of steady drips emitters. The above ground type of
three phase sprinklers are driven by a ball drive, gear drive, or
impact mechanism. They can be designed to rotate in a full or
partial circle. They are generally known to have a higher pressure of
water released.
The three phase sprinklers
should be operated with three phase power such as a three phase
converter if three phase power is not accessible through the utility
company. These type of phase converters are designed to power equipment
like the three phase sprinklers that require three phase power. A
single unit can provide a continuous, reliable source of three phase
power to more than one piece of equipment. The true three phase
converter uses it's own motor to generate the third, high leg of power.
It then passes on the other two legs of power that is provided by the
single phase power source. The three phase sprinkler is now
operating with a constant, smooth form of electricity flow which mean
that it is operating at it's fullest capacity, safely and efficiently.
This mean little or no maintenance to your equipment for years to come.
